The SUV model of the German automobile manufacturer BMW, which was launched in 2018, has managed to become one of the prominent vehicles of its class thanks to its strong athletic features. Although it has a short history, it has been spoken for a while that the vehicle, which gained the appreciation of the customers, will return with a renewed style. Having to maintain its innovation in such a competitive market, the BMW X2 was first displayed as a make-up prototype last December. With the start of mass production, the vehicle was now caught in the lens near the Nürburgring. When we look closely at the captured frames, we can see that the BMW X2 series, which has been silent for a long time, has been reshaped with small touches. The facelift BMW X2 features a few minor changes: As the first part of the changes, we can say that the grille at the front looks wider than the current X2. The overhauled headlights, however, mimic the facelift design of the latest BMW 5 series. It can also be seen that the German manufacturer added stickers for fog lights to the front facade to compare the new prototype to the existing X2. When we go to the back, there is no significant difference between the make-up model and the current X2, but the development of the vehicle will continue in the coming months. So we can see a different design in the final version of the car. On the other hand, unfortunately, there is no frame showing the car’s cabin. At this point, we can assume that the interior cabin will be updated with improved software and a slightly larger infotainment screen. When we get under the hood, the BMW X2 includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged, in-line four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. In the 28i model, the inline four-cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque could reach up to 302 horsepower and 322 lb-ft torque in the M35i. These engine options are expected to continue in the facelifted X2 model. The German company has yet to make an official announcement about when the updated BMW X2 will be released, but sales are not expected to start before 2021. If there is any improvement in this process, we will continue to inform you.
