Design and canvas Cell phones look very similar, especially on the back. At the front, the difference is due to the notch on the Moto G8 Plus, while the Moto G8 Power brings a more modern and spacious design by housing the front camera inside the screen. The panels, however, are very similar: in the first, a 6.3-inch LCD with Full HD + resolution, while the second maintains the definition and brings a diagonal of 6.4 inches. The devices have a digital reader on the back and are only resistant to splashing water, so they cannot be immersed. Cameras The Moto G8 Power features a 48 MP main camera (f / 1.7 aperture) that uses Quad Pixel technology to combine four pixels into one and increase light capture. The phone also features Night Mode, which promises visible photos even in totally dark places without the aid of a flash. The triple set is complete with a 16 MP ultra wide specialized in vertical video recording, just like the Motorola One Action, and a 5 MP depth sensor that helps in Portrait Mode. The Moto G8 Power has a quad camera with a different arrangement. Ultra wide is for both photos and videos, but delivers a lower resolution of 8 MP. The 8 MP depth camera has a telephoto lens that releases 2x zoom, and there is an extra 2 MP sensor with macro lens, capable of photographing objects at very short distances. The weak point in relation to the Plus edition is due to the 16 MP primary camera, which, despite repeating the f / 1.7 lens aperture, should not deliver clicks with the same quality in scenarios with good or bad lighting. In the front camera, both bring the technology that combines pixels to optimize the brightness, but the Moto G8 Plus tends to take advantage by bringing more powerful sensor: 25 MP against 16 MP of the Power version. Performance and storage Cell phones bring exactly the same hardware and, therefore, performance should not be considered as a decision factor at the time of purchase. The pair comes with the Snapdragon 665 intermediate processor up to 2.0 GHz and 4 GB RAM, specifications that should be sufficient for most of the day-to-day tasks, in addition to running the main Android games with average graphics. . The storage also has equivalence: the two bring 64 GB internal and expansion capacity through memory card in microSD format. Drums The Moto G8 Power comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that, according to Motorola, can offer up to two days of moderate use. The manufacturer does not disclose the estimated hours, but the autonomy will always be greater than that obtained on the Moto G8 Plus, which has a 4,000 mAh component. On the other hand, the Plus edition replenishes the charge more quickly, as it includes the same 15 W charger that comes with the Power. Android version Android 10 comes factory-installed only on the Moto G8 Power, which had the most recent release. The Moto G8 Plus still runs Android 9 (Pie), which has less privacy and security features, such as blocking access to the location in the background, and does not include the new gesture navigation. The shortcuts to open the flashlight and camera with hand movements are repeated on both phones, as well as other native Motorola functions. Additional resources Cell phones have the same connectivity features, such as compatibility with Bluetooth 5.0 and the presence of USB-C ports, P2 for headset and hybrid tray compatible with the desired dual chip. They also have a digital player positioned at the rear, in addition to the same speakers with stereo audio and Dolby Audio certification. Both smartphones owe NFC. Price The Moto G8 Plus arrived in Brazil in October 2019 for R $ 1,699, but is already sold in the Motorola store for R $ 1,599, the same launch price as the Moto G8 Power. In retail, however, the Plus edition has already undergone a greater devaluation and is currently available in online stores for an amount close to R $ 1,200, depending on the offer of the day.
