Facebook has brought two social media networks closer together since the day it bought Instagram. The social media giant has already published a feature that allows sharing stories shared on Instagram, also on Facebook. Now the reverse of this process is also possible. Tests of the feature that allows Facebook stories to be shared on Instagram have started. The fact that Facebook stories can be shared on Instagram will mean that two social media platforms have the ability to share stories crosswise. This feature will save time for social media administrators and users of both platforms. Sharing stories across two platforms can also cause the algorithm of Instagram stories to improve further. This new feature of Facebook stories is interpreted as increasing Facebook’s identity on Instagram. The founders of Instagram left the Instagram in 2018 on the grounds that the social media network has lost its autonomy against Facebook. It is seen that this policy of Facebook on Instagram has become more and more severe. Jane Manchun Wong shared a screenshot of the Facebook stories sharing feature on Instagram. The sharing options of Facebook Stories appear in the screenshot shared by Wong. At the bottom of the privacy options, where it is determined who can see the story, there is an option such as “Share the Story on Instagram”. Following the sharing of Jane Manchun Wong, a Facebook spokesperson announced that the feature has been tested. The spokesperson explained that there are different users on Facebook according to Instagram and that they have tested such a feature for people to share their special moments with these followers. The cross-story sharing feature Facebook tried is thought to be the pioneer of a merge work between WhatsApp, Messenger and Instragram Direct.
