The Beijing-based firm has a very large network of stores in its homeland, China. Xiaomi opened 100 new Mi Stores across the country at the end of 2019. Xiaomi is not the only Chinese tech giant to step up against the corona virus threat. Huawei, the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, recently announced that the developer conference HDC Cloud 2020, which it plans to hold in central Shenzhen, has been postponed. Xiaomi announces that stores are closed in cooperation with the government Xiaomi’s physical stores across the country will be closed from 28 January 2020 to 3 February 2020. The company said that customers who want to shop during this time can use the online store or the Mall app. The new type of corona virus, known as 2019-nCoV, which is from the same family as SARS, which killed more than 700 people in 2003, first appeared in Wuhan, China in late 2019. The mysterious virus that has been detected in many countries since Thailand, France, Australia, Japan, Nepal, South Korea, Canada and the USA has caused more than 100 people to die.
